Manufacturers Pave the Path to National Revival

Join the SBA in celebrating Manufacturing Day with a webinar on Thursday, October 1, 2020. This event will focus on the tools and services available to help your export ambitions succeed. We’ll showcase three U.S. small business manufacturers who are thriving in today’s tough market by effectively utilizing the SBA, the Export-Import Bank, and the U.S. Department of Commerce to boost their global sales.

Manufacturers play a crucial role in the U.S. economy, employing over 12 million people and contributing $2.36 trillion annually. They also lead in private-sector research and development and significantly impact economic growth.

The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the importance of manufacturers in our nation’s recovery. This year, Manufacturing Day provides a platform for manufacturers to showcase their work, celebrate their workforce, and inspire a future generation of skilled workers.

Take CellAntenna, for example. Based in Coral Springs, Florida, this company provides global signal solutions with custom-designed projects. When the pandemic hit, their international business stalled due to lockdowns. CEO Howard Melamed explains that they focused on reducing debt and increasing liquidity to weather the period of stagnation.

Operations had to adapt too, with policies like social distancing and the development of a UVC chamber for equipment disinfection. Realizing the market potential, CellAntenna began selling these UVC products to disinfect tools and packages both domestically and internationally.

“We have an SBA export line of credit supporting sales to various countries including Israel, Mexico, Canada, South America, and Europe,” says Melamed. They also use EXIM credit insurance and leverage multiple Gold Key services from the U.S. Commercial Service, and are working on entering the Brazilian market.

Manufacturers like CellAntenna are not just surviving but driving the nation’s recovery and shaping the future. Join SBA’s Manufacturing Day webinar to learn how you can follow in their footsteps and achieve business success.
