American Express and Delta Air Lines Debut Exclusive Boeing 747 Card Design

American Express and Delta Air Lines are bringing back the limited-edition Boeing 747 Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Card. This special card, made from metal from retired aircraft, will be available from April 25 to June 5, 2024, for Delta SkyMiles® Reserve and Reserve Business Card Members.

Due to high demand in 2022, American Express and Delta are doubling the production this year. The new cards will include 33% metal from two Delta 747 planes that were retired in 2017. These unique cards, not just functioning as credit cards but also collectible items, have a shiny white finish reminiscent of clouds and include details of the planes’ service history, such as their first and last flights, tail number, and miles flown.

Jon Gantman, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cobrand Product Management at American Express, shared his excitement about the re-release. He mentioned how enthusiastic customers were about the first design, prompting the return of the ‘Queen of the Skies’ with a new look, allowing card members who love flying to hold onto a piece of aviation history.

Prashant Sharma, Vice President of Loyalty at Delta Air Lines, highlighted the card’s significance and its connection to Delta’s focus on customer experience and innovation. He noted that the card symbolizes the numerous journeys made by these planes and embodies the spirit of exploration that Delta represents. With added benefits, he emphasized that this card is more than just a payment method; it’s a link to the past and a commitment to quality for future travels.

The Delta SkyMiles Reserve and Reserve Business American Express Cards offer substantial advantages for frequent travelers. Benefits include yearly enhanced Companion Certificates, a head start on achieving higher status tiers, and faster mile-earning accelerators. Cardholders also gain exclusive access to reservations through Global Dining Access by Resy.

These cards could be especially useful for small business owners who travel frequently, combining travel perks with a touch of aviation history, making both business and personal trips more rewarding.
