The more visitors enjoy and appreciate your Web site, the longer they will remain and the greater the chance they will buy. Here are a few pointers to keep in mind for copywriting when you are designing your Web site. These points help answer your questions on business Internet marketing online.

1) Simple is the key. You may have plenty of widgets, audio, visual, and flash to put on your Web site, but that does not mean you should use it. The buyer wants to find the items found easily and not be bombarded. If people have difficulty getting around your site, they are not going to stick around for long and surely will not come back again. You can always ask your customers to comment on the layout.

2) Keep your links easy to find, as well. If there is too much going on, it will be difficult for your customers to know how to get to their next destination. Use clear, descriptive text links, even if you have visuals.

3) Put the most important information on the top-left  corner of your page.

4) You never know what page your customers will see first or where they will travel once they get to your Web site. Be sure that each page has your logo and a navigation bar, so they can get back home. Put a site map in an easily found location, as well. Make it simple to get back home — three clicks at the most.

5) Let your customers/clients know exactly what they have to do to get the information or products they want: “Sign up here for newsletter.” “Sale Items.” “Start your order.” Then have the link right there.

6) Include a good mix of information and products on your Web site. People want to learn more about your niche, and the search engines are always looking for valuable information. If you do not have a blog, then be sure to regularly update the information on your Home Page.

7) Make sure the pages open up quickly. Too many bells and whistles, and it will take too long for the download. Customers do not have patience to wait. They will go right to the next site. This means you should avoid using many large images.

8 ) Do not use too many colors — two or three complimentary colors at most. Do not use background colors that make copy difficult to read, such as a black background with a light colored text or yellow and pink type. Use white space to break up the page. Similarly, do not use more than two text fonts, and use the ones that are most common to all browsers.

9)Make sure you always add more information about your product or service.  This increases your credibility.

10)  Always include your name and phone number, so you are a “real person” and customers know how to reach you.

11) Before you go “live,” try out your Web site on several different browsers.
